Step 1: Choose a patient from our bank of 100+ MD-created OSCE case scenarios or create your own from your files!
Select cases by organ system (cardiovascular, reproductive, etc) or by clinical rotation (internal medicine, surgery, etc). We provide a curated case bank with bread-and-butter scenarios or you can create brand new cases from scratch or your files.
Step 2: Chat with your patient using voice or text
Our simulator is voice enabled, and students can practice interview patients who talk back like real life! Ask any question you might ask a patient during an interview and simulate taking a history with appropriate depth and communication skills.
Step 3: Do a physical exam and order labs/imaging
Request physical exam maneuvers and interpret findings yourself (e.g. lung sounds) and order labs and imaging studies such as a chest x-ray!
Step 4: Make your diagnosis and input your next steps for patient management
Input your leading diagnosis based on your history, physical exam, and labs/imaging.
Step 5: Get personalized feedback based on your performance and view your score
Neural Consult’s custom AI gives you immediate, custom feedback on interview skills, and diagnostic reasoning, and correctness of diagnosis. Get scores on the case to track your progress of compete with friends!
Other Feature Capabilities
Neural Consult can also create any OSCE case from an uploaded file to create cases that match your study needs perfectly. There is an additional OSCE mode called “Full sim” that recreates a typical OSCE environment with an interview, then post-encounter questions.
Future feature capabilities
Neural Consult’s OSCE simulator case bank already has over 100+ MD created and verified OSCE cases and we are continuously adding more. Future features include patient avatars, more scenario types (e.g. counseling), oral presentation practice, and an Attending physician “pimping mode”.
